Introductory: No true equipment or space requirement! Equipment can be flexible, but we would like you to have something that your dog can stand on like a perch (can use something like an old phonebook or textbook) and something your dog can go around, like a large construction cone.
Novice: To complete this module, for the courses you will need the following equipment in addition to a 40' x 60 ' space. Equipment needed: 4 jumps (ideally wings), 1 tunnel (15' - 20'), 6 weave poles, A-frame, & Teeter.
Elite: Please have access to a full field of equipment. Course sizes will be no larger than 80' x 80'. Equipment to be included: A-frame, teeter, dog walk, 12 weaves, 7 jumps (ideally wing), and 2 tunnels (15 - 20').
If you are in the Novice or Elite levels, please reach out to us!
If an equipment or course size modification is needed and can be done safely, competitors are allow to run not for competition (NFC).
NFC runs in the league will still count towards completion of the requirements to be names a BAL Semester Finalist.
As these adjustments can influence the time taken to run the course, we are not able to rank these runs for a competition basis.
If you have further questions, please reach out to us at league@bjaco.com
Yes, absolutely! For handlers running more than one dog, use the additional dog to register them.

If your additional dog is at a different level, email us and let us know and we will give you access to this level

This program is currently designed for those 21 and under at the time of sign up. Additionally we can only currently accommodate those from the US and Canada. For those in Canada, please note, we will be limited to shipping once a season instead of once a semester. Thanks!
BAL registration is done on a per member basis and each member of BAL should have their own account.
This allows each member to have their own "virtual identity" within to program, access league materials, and track their progress within the online environment. We recommend using a different email login for each participant.
No. Parents may choose to opt their junior from the Discord server requirement.
The function of the Discord server is to give everyone an interactive space to share their runs & training and connect with each other. The requirement to post helps to keep the chat active and the virtual community alive.
However, we understand social media expectations and allowances vary by family and platform and we are happy to exempt BAL members out of the posting requirement.
BJAC is an nonprofit and we focus on funneling the registration fees back to our BAL members.
Registration helps us to provide:
Ribbons for placement & finalists

Fun raffles for our members
Website hosting for the virtual materials & gatherings.
Please note:
Our judges, leaders, mentors, and organizers are all on a volunteers and donating their time and knowledge to make this possible <3
