Whether you've never done agility before or are a seasoned agility handler looking to do more training with your current dog, this is a level that focuses on agility foundations.
Training with friends is often more exciting than training alone. We wanted to create a virtual space where anyone wanting training agility can connect and train together.
This level is about creating that virtual space to train together, providing educational resources form top trainers in the sport, and having fun with our dogs in agility!
New to agility? If you have never trained or competed in the sport of agility, this is a fantastic way to get started! Teaching dogs how to do agility is all about taking big skills and breaking it into smaller skills first -- and those smaller skills are often things you can do at home with no/minimal equipment or things you have already. We have videos just for you to help get you started in training your agility journey.
Repeating Intro? Agility skills and foundations are built through repetition and time - after all, it's hard for anyone to learn something in one go. Many of the training skills presented are training sessions we repeat to gradually increase our dog's confidence at the skill and build in additional levels of difficulty and distraction. For everyone who is re-joining, one of the options is to work on "proofing" or taking those same skills to the next level of difficulty.
Already Training? If you are active in the sport and looking for a space to train and connect with other juniors, this is your training corner. You can work on skills of your own design, homework from your trainer/online courses, or even post videos from your agility class or competition.
We understand that not everyone can access the size and equipment requirements on a weekly basis to participate in Novice/Elite. We hope that this space gives everyone an opportunity to participate in the Boundless Agility League.
ELIGIBILITY: This program is currently designed for those 21 and under at the time of sign up. Additionally we can only currently accommodate those from the US and Canada. For those in Canada, please note, we will be limited to shipping once a season instead of once a semester. Thanks!
Canine Eligibility: Since the introductory level does not require equipment or any intense physical activity, there is no true "minimum age requirement" for this level. However, we do recommend a minimum age of 4 months to allow you to get you to know your new puppy and work on other important puppy skills first before jumping right into agility. However, we also understand that material in the course will likely be synergistic with your training, so all are welcome.
No true equipment or space requirement! Equipment can be flexible, but we would like you to have something that your dog can stand on like a perch (can use something like an old phonebook or textbook) and something your dog can go around, like a large construction cone.
